What is aperture?
Aperture refers to the opening of a lens's diaphragm through which light passes.

How aperture works both technically and visually:
The aperture is measured in "f stops". The lower f/stops give more exposure while the higher f/stops give less exposure.

The relationship to the exposure triangle:
It is an essential part of the exposure triangle. It's at the top and it helps with the lighting of the image.
